Message from Principal’s Desk

The Calliope School offers opportunities for all students to achieve excellence in academic, cultural, artistic, sporting, and community endeavours. We provide an inclusive, caring environment which fosters collaborative learning and positive relationships. Students needs here are a priority, where traditional Indian and modern Western educational values are respected and encouraged to coexist. It is our strong belief that children acquire skills and knowledge easily if the surrounding is stimulating and purposeful.

Excellence in everything,is what we strive for. Value in the positive psychological framework as a rubric is imperative for the success of our children in every sphere. We support and encourage our learners in their quest to develop a respectful and fulfilling relationship with their peers, staff and members of the community. Guidance in their search for meaning in the disciplines we introduce them to, prepares them for the world around them and in their interactions with others. Recognizing and rewarding accomplishments at all levels is our highest priority. We inspire learning for its own sake by sharing our joy, and instilling a lifelong dedication to learning.

Our educators strive towards building the capacity in our students to operationalize future-focused learning skills. These skills enhance problem-solving, evaluation, team spirit, communication, creativity and innovation. In order to maximize our gross collective well-being, we rely on a balance of pursuing academic mastery, collaborating with others to achieve worthwhile goals, gently urging students out of their comfort zone to attempt new challenges. Our aim is to create ‘future fit’ minds that are disciplined, synthesizing, respectful and ethical. We encourage children to have goal lines and provide them guidelines and support. Our children are exhorted to drive themselves towards their personal best, within the framework of ethical boundaries.

As students grow more autonomous, their pursuit of excellence involves self-organization, self-regulation and the ongoing adaptation of a complex system comprising of the learners and their chosen courses, their teachers, their peers and the environment. The process of development becomes more interactive. The accountability shifts more towards the learner. Intensity and continuity of effort play a key role in the process of maximizing their potential at school.

In order to guide and support our children’s learning, we seek the support of our dear parents in ensuring that our children:

Attend School daily and arrive on time, ready for the day’s learning experience
Complete all homework assignments given by teachers
Read daily to develop a love for reading and to improve literary skills
Share school experiences with you
Know that you expect them to succeed in School
At The Calliope School, our children are encourages and guided so as to mature into balanced, socially aware and humane individuals.
